What happiness is made of

Wanted to end the week with this thought from Mary Baker Eddy:

Happiness consists in being and in doing good; only what God gives, and what we give ourselves and others through His tenure, confers happiness: conscious worth satisfies the hungry heart, and nothing else can. --Message for 1902, p. 17

That seems to say it all this morning! Have a great weekend.

Wonderful thought to end (or begin) any week, Laura! I particularly love the phrase, "...conscious worth satisfies the hungry heart..." -- to me, that "conscious worth" includes being mindful of man's and woman's identity as the very expression of God's being. When understood spiritually, how can that glorious sense of worth not bring happiness?

thanks laura...i love this statement...I am so grateful to be aware of the worth of being conscious (awake and aware of something and able to attach value and importance to it - Webster)... conscious of good, of love, of joy, of kindness...of the value of our freindships...

with such love, Kate
